ITA seeks Executive DirectorThe International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) has established a new position as Executive Director starting on 1st January, 2009. ITA is a non-profit and non-governmental organization with 52 member nations encompassing about 20,000 experts worldwide. In managing the organization, the Executive Director will interact with the ITA President frequently, but ultimately is responsible to the Executive Council. ITA is bilingual, English and French.
The work tasks of the Executive Director would typically include the following:
Manage the ITA organisation financially and operationally, including the Secretariat in Lausanne
Conduct ITA's business, reporting to the Executive Council and the General Assembly
Manage promotion, public relations and publishing activities including print and electronic means
Follow-up, liaise and supervise the host nations of the Annual World Tunnel Congress
Follow up contacts with other non-governmental organizations such as UN, EU, PIARC
Participate in conferences on behalf of ITA presenting the organization and its work
Follow up and liaise the activities of the members within ITA
Arrange and promote meetings, seminars, training sessions and conferences for ITA
Visit and promote ITA to nations and organizations of interest
ITA is seeking a qualified person who:
Holds a Bachelor degree in relevant fields
Is well experienced in management, finance, leadership, marketing and communication
Has experience in Public Relations and, preferably, in working with non-profit organizations
Is familiar with the operation of tunnelling industry
