On the 24.09.2018 the TBM Wainganga completed its first tunnel for the 33.5-km Colaba-Bandra-Seepz (Metro-3 line). The 1.26-km tunnel between Pali ground in Marol, Andheri (East) and the International airport terminal T2 was completed in 259 days with an average speed of 4.6m/day.

The tunnel is part of the 4.15 km Terminal T2 - Aarey section whose construction was awarded to the Joint Venture between L&T-STEC (Package07). The TBM, launched in Marol on 08.01.2018, and drove through rocky strata made of basalt, breccia and tuff and completed excavation near Terminal T2.
