On the 01/09/2020 the Province of Bolzano signed a contract with the consortium, led by Carron Bau Srl GmbH (group leader) and composed of companies Mair Josef & Co. KG di Mair Klaus and Di Vincenzo Dino & C Spa. This was for the construction of the North-West Merano Bypass (Lot 2), including the Monte San Benedetto tunnel to be built under Via Goethe and Monte San Zeno up to the Tyrolean area. The start of the works, is set for 8/09/2020, the contract had been postponed due to numerous appeals and documentation checks: click here for the verdict n.4858/2020 from  the Council of State, announced on 30/07/20, which has definitively closed the many years of dispute regarding the contract for the construction project.
