On the 28.02.2018 the JV led by Dodin Campenon Bernard which included GTM Ouest and Botte Fondations, both subsidiaries of VINCI Construction France, along with Spie Batignolles TPCI, Spie Fondations and Legendre Genie Civil, successfully completed tunnelling Line B. This is the second automated metro line in Rennes, for regional authority Rennes Metropole and transport authority Semtcar. After 38 months of operation the TBM Elaine reached the exit shaft between the Gayeulles and Joliot-Curie Chateaubriand stations. The Line B will run between the south-west and north-east of the urban area and will serve 15 stations by 2020.

At the end of this phase, Elaine will have travelled about 8.5 km underground, passing nine stations and four ventilation shafts. In total, the TBM (length 82 m, diameter 9 m) installed 29,806 segments.
