The inauguration of the la Linea tunnel and its emergency tunnel, scheduled by Invias for 29 May 2020, will be delayed due to the slowdown in work imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic. 

The La Linea tunnel is part of the central Cordillera crossing project, consisting of 23 additional short tunnels, 3 road junctions, 31 viaducts and 30 km of road between Cajamarca in Tolima and Calarca in Quindio.  The La Linea tunnel (8.65 km) is currently undergoing the installation of electromechanical equipment (ventilation system, lighting, fire protection, etc.): progress is at 60%.
