On 23.02.2018, just 7 months after beginning the railway infrastructure systems works, the installation of the tracks in the 15.4 km East tube  of the Ceneri  Base Tunnel have now been completed. Following the laying of the tracks the delicate adjustment phase has now reached 2/3 of the section and the concrete lining is now halfway through the tunnel.  The tunnel has also been handed over for installation of energy  systems.
