Last night the 600 tonne TBM, belonging to the consortium of ISG, headed by the Italian company Salini Impregilo, broke through at the Red Line North of al Golf, North East of Doha. The EUR1.8 billion contract involved the construction of two parallel tunnels which are 11.6 km long and with 6.17 m  diameter . As a result the 7 underground stations  underneath La Corniche, the artificial seafront of the capital of Qatar can be completed. In 2019 the Red, Green and Gold lines will be opened. The Blue circular line will then be built at a later date. So far 85% of tunnels and 55% of the elevated sections have been completed on this project. Click here and qt/13 for tunnelbuilder archive.
