On 17/05/2021 Leighton Asia's Deep Tunnel Sewerage System Phase 2 - Contract T-09 in Singapore marked a major milestone, with the first 7.56m diameter TBM Teban breaking through at the South Tunnel. The remaining two TBMs are expected to breakthrough in the coming months.  The Contract  T-09 which was awarded to Leighton Asia included 7 shafts and an 8 km tunnel.  

Construction for Phase 2, which will channel used water from the downtown and western parts of Singapore to the new Tuas Water Reclamation Plant, began in 2017.  As at April 2021, about 24km of the 100km-long conveyance system for phase two has been completed.
