On 14.03.2016  the Sant’Urbano tunnel in Pedemontana Veneta broke through. The tunnel is 1531m and is the first tunnel between Montecchio Maggiore and Castelgomberto municipalities, which is part of the Pedemontana Veneta coming from Vicenza toward Treviso. The Pedemontana Veneta, will cost EUR2.26 billion in total, and will be 94.56 km long once finished. It is being built through the the foothills of Veneta, and will include natural and artificial tunnels.
