Breakthrough for Almendral tunnel On 07.04.2011 excavation was completed on the 1.1 km-long single-tube, twin track Almendral tunnel, the major feature of the 1.67 km-long Barranco de Gafarillos-Areos section of Spain's Almeria-Murcia Mediterranean corridor high-speed railway.
