On 24.02.2012 JV Collini/Cossi/Giudici/Aster broke through at Capo di Ponte tunnel on the SS 42 Tonale-Mendola between Darfo and Edolo. The alignment and length of tunnel was altered to avoid an archeological site and underground water conduits. The 8,319 m-long bypass includes the two tunnels Sellero (5,047 m) and Capo di Ponte (1,866 m) and a 1.5 km open air section. Capo di Ponte tunnel cost EUR46 million.
