On 19.02.21014 an agreement was signed between RFI and Ics Grandi lavori, in the presence of the Regional Infrastructure and Mobility minister Maurizio Del Tenno. The agreement provides for the re-starting of the excavation of the Bevera (860 m) and Induno (478 m) tunnels on the Arcisate-Stabio railway. Final approval is awaited for the proposed disposal sites for excavated earth, some of which is contaminated by naturally occurring arsenic. A detailed timetable can then be worked out.
