After Datwyler Sealing Technologies having already received the patent for the DATBALANCE principle in Europe and Hong Kong last year, it is now received the protection of a patent for this new system in the United States.

Building Tunnels with segmental precast lining has tolerances, which create an offset between the adjacent segments gaskets. This leads to different load deflection forces inside the gaskets and form a varying sealing capacity. The Datwyler DATBALANCE development mostly eliminates this situation and provides a uniform load deflection across the different offset condition. Which in turn provides a constant sealing performance over a defined offset range. A further advantage is the reduced maximum possible load deflection. This will give the tunnel engineer the option to specify fastening systems with lower forces and safes material and more importantly reduce costs.
