This CHF430 million contract is the last major tunnelling assignment for the Gotthard base tunnel. It mainly comprises a 7.8 km twin tunnel, 23 cross passages and an underground junction for the future construction of the so-called "Berg lang geschlossen" line. Defeated consortium Marti appealed twice against the award and the federal appeal court for public works twice judged the appeals receivable and asked AlpTransit to reexamine its decision.
