Alignment of western bypass to connect E4 motorway at Kungens Kurva in south to E4 at Haagvik in north will require four twin-tube, three-lane, drill/blast tunnels totalling 9 km in granite and gneiss, of which Loevon is the longest at 4.5 km. E-mail vagverket.sto@vv.se 30/02.NCC and the National Road Administration have signed an agreement for the Taeby Kyrkby to Rosenkaella section of the Norrortsleden highway in northern Greater Stockholm. The contract includes project planning, construction, operation and maintenance during 15 years. The total value is SEK715 million. The project consists of a 7 km, 2+1 road section including the Loettinge single-tube tunnel, 1 km long and 145 sq m in cross section. Construction is expected to take three years and all of the subsections of the Norrortsleden highway is planned to be inaugurated at a joint traffic opening ceremony in the autumn of 2008. The National Road Administration will be newly testing the design and build contract model for this project.
