Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, after Veiddeke edeke awarded to the consortium COMSA Corporacion de Infraestructuras SL and Nortunel SA the contract for the construction of the 1.6-km Ersmark tunnel in the Umea district on the section Umea - Dava section of the Norrbothnia line. The tunnel will initially be made single track but is being prepared to accommodate double track in the future with a 800 m long service and rescue tunnel.
