Svenska Kraftnaet the Swedish National Grid a joint venture between Implenia (50%)/Hochtief (50%) (for 4 years) secured the Eur90 million contract to build the Anneberg-Skanstull tunnel in Stockholm.
As the second of four phases in the City Link project, the Anneberg-Skanstull tunnel will help improve electricity supply in the Greater Stockholm region. With a length of around 14 km and a diameter of 5 m, the tunnel is being built around 50 - 100 m below the Swedish capital using a tunnel boring machine. The project also includes six ventilation shafts, elevator systems and the construction of technical buildings for electrical equipment near Anneberg and around the shafts. Completion is scheduled for 2024. The aim of the City Link project is to connect the north (Upplands Väsby) and the south (Huddinge) of Stockholm with a new electricity supply.
