The C-16 Llobregat trunk road between Naví s and Berga will be dualled to be converted into a highway. The 20.3 km section will require to build three tunnels totalling 835 metres. The 5.1 km section includes the Lilla tunnel, which consists of two bores of 1,565.50 m (left tube) and 1,567.41 m (right tube) whereof 1,476.80 and 1,477.47 m mined respectively. The two tunnels will be separated by 40.5 m and will have a gradient of 2.5%. Pedestrian cross-passages each 200 metres will connect the two tubes, the one in the middle being also for emergency vehicles. There will also be a 40 m x 3 m lay-by. The tunnel will be constructed in accordance with NATM, by means of mechanical excavator or drilling and blasting. The support will consist of fibre-reinforced shotcrete, bolts and steel arches. The tunnel mouths will be built by installing canopies of 37 steel pipes, 20 m long.
