This 12 km two-lane dual carriageway is budgeted at EUR164.9 million and will take 48 months to build. In Valle de Icod, there will be eight cut-and-cover tunnels and the 1,217 m-long La Vega tunnel. There will be also three cross passages with exit to the nearby cliff and wide lay-bys. Visit http://ted.europa.eu/udl?request=Seek-Deliver&language=en&docid=117706-2007, OJ S 96, or contact Autonomous community of Canaries, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, fax +34 922246274. 22/07.A joint venture formed by Acciona Infraestructuras, Ferrovial Agromí¡n, Bruesa Construccií³n, Mejías y Rodríguez, and VVO has been entrusted with the construction of the new road link from Icod de Los Vinos to El Tanque. The contract is worth EUR120.9 million and construction will take 31 months. This 12 km section forms part of Tenerife Island's ring road. From Icod de los Vinos to Santiago del Teide, the existing C-820 road is very sinuous, narrow, dangerous and does not meet mobility needs. The new road will serve Buen Paso, where a short cut-and-cover tunnel will be built. In the Icod valley, the road will pass through eight twin cut-and-cover tunnels. To cross the escarpment that closes the Icod valley to the west and protect the landscape of La Culata cliffs, a 1,217 m twin bore tunnel will be constructed in La Vega. The La Vega tunnels will be connected by three cross-passages with exits to the nearby cliffs and will be equipped with widened lay-bys.
