Airport Railway

Planned 66 km line, cost $2.9 billion, will connect Seoul with both Kimpo airport and the new Inchon International, due to open March, 2001, which is being built on reclaimed land between two islands west of Inchon city. First 12 km from Seoul station will be built under an existing railway. The Han river will be crossed by bridge and the line will then dive underground for about 10 km, passing beneath Kimpo airport, before coming to surface. The final 6 km will be underground and the new Inchon airport will be served by two underground stations. Sept 2000.
