The JV led by SELI Spa and including the Spanish firm OSSA (Obras Subterraneas SA) and the Swiss engineering company, Lombardi Engineering, has signed a EUR39 million design-build contract for urgent repair of the Esti headrace water tunnel located in the Chiriqui region of Panama, 25 km from the city of David between Boquete and Gaulaca. The contract involves major repairs and relining of the 4.7 km-long, 9 m-diameter pressure tunnel, which has collapsed in several places. Expected date of completion is 01.05.2012.
