Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. (HCC) has been awarded from JKSPDC (Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation) a US$25.1 million (INR1.67 billion) contract for constructing a double lane tunnel of approximately 1500m in length. This will be the access road to 1856 MW Sawalkote Hydroelectric Power Project in Jammu & Kashmir. This is an EPC contract which will involve investigation, design and construction of the tunnel.
