December 2000.  Walter Bau progressing 1.07 km-long Doelzschen and 2.337 km-long Coschutz twin-tube, 150 sq m oval section tunnels on A7 Dresden-Prague motorway using drill/blast sequential excavation in soft, mixed ground and syenite with 10% quartz. Eight Atlas Copco 352 drillrigs and four Normet Spraymec shotcrete jumbos working four 72 sq m top headings from furthermost ends of alignment. Benching will start when faces reach 300 m mark, followed by invert excavation. Four 10 m-long x 4 m-diameter cross passages in Doelzschen, seven in Coschutz.
