The contractor JV Tunnel Albabstieg Ed. Züblin AG and Max Bögl Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG from Munich had secured the original EUR249.161 million contract, excluding VAT. This was for engineering planning and construction of the 5.9 km-long Albabstieg tunnel with two single-track tubes with additional crosspassages on the section from Ulm to Dornstadt. This is part of the new 60 km-long AV line Wendlingen-Ulm (PA 2.4).
