JV Eiffage TP and Campenon Bernard TP secured the contract, value EUR158 million, for construction of the 2 x 3.9 km Violay tunnel on the Balbigny-La Tour de Salvagny section of motorway A89. Contract duration 37 months, starting May, 2009 using conventional methods. Both tubes will be equipped with 7 pedestrian bypasses, 6 vehicular crosspassages, an electrical sub-station and a longitudinal ventilation system. The section will be opened in 2012.
