3.8 km central twin-track single 6.8 m internal diameter tunnel contract with seven cut-and-cover stations is worth $75 million. 7.7 m-diameter FCB EPB ex Lille metro was fitted with shale cutting head and launched from one of the stations. It flitted through intermediate stations at depths of 9 m to 15 m. Spoil removal was by automated conveyor system to surface and then by road haulage. Razel, a Bilfinger & Berger affiliate, provided the TBM and was a 15% participant in the contract. Contact through www.bub.de March 2000.
