Infrabel granted Van den Berg, a Heijmans subsidiary, final contract award for a subcontract for the realisation of the Liefkenshoek railway connection in the port of Antwerp. The contract concerns the construction and 15-year maintenance of the technical systems for the railway tunnel that links the Linkeroever and Rechteroever districts bordering on the left and right shores of the Schelde river. The contract value exceeds EUR28 million. The project comprises the design, construction and maintenance of a number of technical tunnel safety systems and the control systems for the railway tunnel.
