The joint venture John Holland and CPB has been selected by the NSW Government for the EUR 459.44 million (AUD 722 million) contract to design and construct part of the Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) project in parallel with the existing Rozelle Interchange works. The project includes the excavation and lining of the 1.7km Western Harbour Tunnel driven tunnels, including ventilation tunnels, between the Rozelle Interchange and Birchgrove Oval. The excavation work on the southern tunnel section of Western Harbour Tunnel will begin in mid-2022 and is planned for completion by mid-2025.
