Metrolinx is preparing to call tenders for construction of the Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown Light Rapid Transit Line (LRT). This LRT will run in 17.5 km of new twin bored tunnel under Eglinton Avenue in Toronto. A contract for the first segment of tunnel, 6.75 km-long from Black Creek to Yonge Street, will be tendered in January 2012, with construction to begin in August 2012.
