On 16.03.2015 the EUR14.2 million fourth part of SS 508 Val Sarentino upgrading project starts, including the final work in the 1,520 m-long and 2 km-long tunnels constructed by Consorzio Stabile Costruttori Alto Adige CONBAU of Bolzano, on the opposite side of Castel Roncolo.

Oberosler SpA will finish the tunnels and road structure throughout the new section, as well as carry out the work in the open air section. The new open air road, 180 m-long between the two tunnels, is near the Goldegg quarry and will link the existing SS 508 at km7+800. The technical buildings for the management of tunnel equipment will also be built. The two new tunnels will bypass fifteen existing tunnels.

Before Easter, 2015 it is expected the bid for the EUR13.1 million contract for lighting, ventilation, signalling and safety equipment (third part of works) will be published. This work starts in Autumn, 2015 for inauguration of the new road before Summer, 2016. Total amount for works in SS 508 Vale Sanrentino is EUR67.8 million.
