Tunnelling on Andora-San Lorenzo section of Genoa-Ventimiglia lineOn 07.05.2010 in tunnelling was completed at the 3,054 m-long Bardellini tunnel at Caramagna on the Ventimiglia side of the new Andora-San Lorenzo section, where dualling is taking place. The holing of the Herrenknecht TBM ended the mechanized tunnelling for the four tunnels, Bardellini, Collecervo-San Simone, Caighei and Gorleri. The Poggi, Castello, Caramagnetta and Terrabianca tunnels, mined traditionally, are also now complete, bringing tunnelling on this section to 95% complete. The dualling section is 19 km-long, of which 16 km is in tunnel. It will include two new stations Imperia and Andora, and a stop at Diano.
