The TBM Chessie, that was custom-made by Herrenknecht for Dragados USA Inc and Schiavone Construction Co. LLC, is now ready to begin construction of the New Tunnel under the Thimble Shoal Canal in Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, USA. The TBM EPB has a diameter of 13 m and is about 100 m long.
