TBM Gaia’s Shield lifted out of excavation shaft

On December 2^nd the shield for the TBM Gaia weighing 150 tons and 11 m in diameter was lifted out of the receiving shaft of the Rijnland Route. The rest of the TBM will be dismantled throughout December and removed through the shaft.
