Savona TBM making ready

Work has started on assembling TBM Lucia, which will drive the 3.9 km tunnel for the national road SS 1 Nuova Aurelia, access to the Savona harbour. The contract was awarded to JV Cooperativa Muratori e Cementisti CMC and Itinera SpA of Ravenna. The cutterhead has a 13.72 m diameter and a total weight of 250 t.
