This year, you have the unique chance to visit the entire underground area between the Ahrental access tunnel, Aldrans and Ampass and to see the different steps required to build a tunnel lining as well as a completed inner lining.

The Open Tunnel Day begins at 09.00 a.m. with a Holy Mass. Subsequently, the  BBT SE engineers will tell you everything about the interesting aspects of this project of the century. Life Radio will be reporting live from the tunnel all day long. Tunnel cinema, a 3-D flight above the project area, a construction machinery exhibition and lots of play options for children as well as an artist’s workshop will inform and entertain visitors of all ages. Food and drink will be provided.

Shuttle buses will bring you from the DEZ-parking lot to the construction site and/or to the event zone inside the tunnel.. Another shuttle service will be available between Innsbruck Main Station (platform D) and the DEZ shopping centre. It will shuttle regularly back and forth during the event. There is no parking available on the construction site. Therefore, parking is allowed only on the DEZ-parking lot and the Hervis parking space (Grabenweg).

We recommend wearing heavy shoes. The temperature in the tunnel is about 20 degrees Celsius.
