Nusantara Tunnel Project in Indonesia Needs ExpertsPT Nusantara Tunnel Indonesia is currently preparing to construct a 33 km subsea twin tunnel crossing the Sunda Strait in Indonesia. The tunnel links Java and Sumatra Islands. Its circular cross section will be 8.3 m in diameter. The tunnel will cross breccias at about 150 m under mean sea water level. The maximum hydrostatic pressure is expected to be 15 bar and the minimum soil layer between the tunnel's centerline and the seabed is about 70 m.
