Assembly of the TBM is underway on the site of La Maddalena in Val di Susa, Italy. Excavation of the first 200 m of the 7.5 km-long survey tunnel of La Maddalena in Chiomonte started at end-2012 using a mechanical shovel and hydraulic rock breaker.
