After an extensive amount of research and testing CREG has developed the world's first U-sharp EPB machine for application in soft ground conditions. The Menghua U-sharp EPB TBM created by CREG has successfully completed the first 500m of the 3,345 m Baicheng railway tunnel, located in Shanxi Province.  The tunnel is in being constructed in Quaternary alluvium (silty fine sand and yellowish clay).
