On the 28.05.2018 the flagging-off ceremony was held for the Kalkaji Mandir - Janakpuri West section of Line 8 (Magenta Line) in Delhi. The 24.82 km Janakpuri West – Kalkaji Mandir corridor (underground 21.9 km and elevated 2.9 km) is the longest stretch opened as part of Delhi’s Metro Phase 3 so far. It consists of 16 stations, 14 of which are underground, and will provide Metro connectivity to the national capital’s arterial Outer Ring Road. The corridor will also connect the airport’s domestic terminal with Metro services for the first time. Delhi Metro now has a network of 277 km. By December this year, it will reach the 380 km stage.
