At the beginning of February the Grand Paris Express held an inauguration ceremony for the last TBM for Line 15 South. The event was attended by everyone in the team from the Horizon joint venture (BESSAC / Soletanche Bachy / Bouygues Travaux Publics). The ceremony took place at the access shaft of the Bel Air site in Vitry-Sur-Seine where the TBM will be launched. The TBM, named Dieneba in honour of Dieneba Dierra, a nurse and resident of the city, who became a heroine by saving a man from drowning in the summer of 2020 - is the 3rd TBM from Vitry-Sur-Seine after Aby and Marina. It will dig 1.1 km of tunnel to the Ardoines station, linking the metro tracks to the future operating center.
TBM Aicha moves closer towards its final destination
Also at the beginning of February, the TBM Aicha (95 m long and 1,500 t in weight). It was originally assembled and started from the Bry - Villiers - Champigny station construction site in January 2020. The TBM tunnelled then towards the Salengro structure in Champigny-sur-Marne, passed the Champigny Center station and is now approaching its final destination, where its arrival is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021.
In parallel with the progress of the tunnel, the Eiffage - Razel-Bec consortium is continuing the construction of the Champigny Centre station on three different sites: the Line 15 South’s station box, the Line 15 East’s station box and the exchange box which is the connection area between the 2 lines.
