On 07.02.2017, after little more than a year since the main breakthrough in the Ceneri Base Tunnel, the shotcrete work has been completed along the inner lining of the eastern tube of the tunnel. They have produced over 1 million cubic meters of concrete using a local plant to supply them. By the summer of 2017 the construction site will be handed over to the consortium that is in charge of providing the technology for the railway.
