Blasting underway in Ceneri base tunnelThe first blast took place in the main lot of the Ceneri base tunnel on the 10.03.2010. The job was awarded to a consortium of Societa Italiana per Condotte d'Acqua (Roma), Cossi (Sondrio) and Cossi (Lugano), click ch/14 and here. During the coming months, work will proceed on both southbound and northbound tubes, reaching full capacity by autumn, 2010. Excavation and installation of safety equipment and lining will be completed by 2016.
