The Brenner Base Tunnel, the 64 km-long heart of the new Brenner rail line between Munich and Verona, is progressing apace, with work starting on the Ahrental main tunnel in Austria. Many important guests will take part in the official ground-breaking ceremony on 19.03.2015, including EU Commissioner Violeta Bulc.

On 20.03.2015, an important meeting will also take place in Innsbruck, when EU Coordinator Pat Cox, with other Coordinators of the Trans-European Networks for Transport, the pertinent Ministers from the seven Alpine States and technical experts, will discuss the challenges and opportunities for cross-border transport projects. 11/15.
