On the 7th of February the shield for the fourth
TBM, which will drive 3.4 km of the Line 15 South for the Grand Paris Express
was lowered into place. The TBM will begin its journey at what will be the future
station for Arcueil - Cachan. The TBM, whose name is not yet known, will begin
to dig in April, it will tunnel through the future Villejuif Institut
Gustave-Roussy station and exit from Villejuif Louis-Aragon station. Along the
route the TBM will encounter several cavities that will be filled with mortar
injections.
Ellen, the third TBM working on the Grand Paris Express,
began digging on February 14th from the entry pit at Robespierre in Bagneux. This
work is under the supervision of the CAP group’s team, led by Vinci
Construction, it will drive 4 km to Fort Issy - Vanves – Clamart station with a
10-15 m / day average. Once this section is finished, Ellen will excavate an additional
900 m to the future Arcueil – Cachan station, where construction works are
underway.
