Consortium Agder OPS Vegselskap led by Bilfinger Berger BOT (50%) and including Sundt (35%) and E. Pihl & Son (15%) will finance, design, construct and operate for 25 years a 38 km section of the E18 highway between Grimstad and Kristiansand. The contract amounts to NOK3.3 billion. The section is part of the new highway between Oslo and Kristiansand. Design and construction includes four bridges and seven twin bored tunnels: Kvernasen (150 m), Skifjell (1,060 m), Songefjellheia (350 m), Bjellandsvad-Steindal (1,560 m), Steindal-Urdal (2,190 m), Loehia (130 m) and Studeheia (300 m), totalling approx. 2 x 5,740 metres. Each tube will carry two lanes with profile T9.5. Construction will be executed under the technical leadership of Bilfinger Berger's civil engineering division.
