Acciona (Spain) in partnership with Ghella (Italy) have been named preferred bidders by the Norwegian National Rail Administration to design and build the 19 km-long twin tunnels of the Follo Line Project. The tunnels will carry high-speed trains of up to 250 km/hour, and will be the longest railway tunnels in Norway. Their construction will involve the simultaneous deployment of four TBMs.

At Asland, in the outskirts of Oslo, AF Gruppen AS is preparing a rig area for the handling of the TBM construction work. The area will include facilities for the production of precast concrete segments and temporary storage of excavated materials.
