Help name - by nominating a local legend - the two massive TBMs (length 90 m, diameter 15.6 m and weight 4000t) that will start in 2024 building 6.5km twin tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen for the North East Link at Melbourne. 

The machines - in keeping with tradition dating back to the 1500s, will be named after women who dig deep in their communities. Learn more about the history by clicking here. 

Visit the online form to nominate a woman who has dug deep in the northeast community, entries close at 11:59 pm Sunday 19 May. T&Cs apply. 

Entries will be assessed on the creativity of the submission and the unique characteristics of the local legend nominated. 

The 2 winning submissions will see their local legend’s name up close and personal on the biggest TBMs in Victoria, with an exclusive opportunity to visit the machines before they’re launched this year.
