On 08.11.2015 Seli Overseas broke through at Al Wabb Station on the Doha Metro Gold Line and set a new production record for the line with 625 m excavated in one month. Seli Overseas subcontract value for the excavation of Lot 2.3 A of the Gold Line is EUR22million or QAR 85,168,528.00.

The S-925 TBM EPB, launched in June 2015, had already excavated 1497 m from Al Soudan to Al Waabs intermediate station part of the 3709 m tunnel lot 2.3 A (Left Tube) from Al Soudan to Al Aziziyah station. The full excavation was carried out in “closed mode”,  applying constant pressure at the face. Precast segments were of a universal design, 6 segments plus

1 key, with 19 different positions available had been assembled into the TBM shield and worked directly as permanent lining. Elastomeric seals between one segment and the adjacent  guaranteed waterproofing. The soil excavated was mainly a sedimentary rock, the main layers encountered were limestone with the presence of small karstic cavities and fissures, sandstone and silt-stone.
