On 26.03.2013 twin Herrenknecht EPBs owned by Astaldi simultaneously reached Pozzo Parco in the CityLife area having started from San Siro Harar–Dessie in April, 2012. This completed the 3 km-long San Siro-Pozzo Parco extension of the M5 metro line in Milan.
Two other EPBs owned by SELI have completed 50 percent of their 2,019 m drive from Monumentale station to Pozzo Orafi, where they are expected to arrive in June, 2013. Total investment for the 6.7 km extension from Garibaldi station to San Siro station is EUR778 million.
The first 4.1 km-long section of M5 metro line, from Bignami to Zara with seven stations, opened 10.02.2013. Next to open, before end-2013, is a 1.4 km-long section with two new stations, Isola and Garibaldi. The 12.6 km Bignami-San Siro section, with 19 stations, will be opened in time for Expo 2015.
