The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is extending the Millennium Line from VCC Clark Station to Arbutus Street. The Project scope includes 700m of elevated guideway extending west from the existing VCC-Clark Station, 5 km of underground tunnel, 6 new underground stations (Great Northern Way-Emily Carr, Mount Pleasant, Broadway-City Hall , Oak-VGH, South Granville and Arbutus Station).

Last March 5 the TBM Elsie departed the future South Granville station, where it was arrived on 8 February.

The TBM Phyllis has broken through at South Granville Station last 20 December 2023 and on 2 February began boring for the final leg of the Broadway subway project to the future Arbutus Station at Cypress Street.

Last year the TBM Elsie broke through the future Oak-VGH Station on October 28, 2023 following the TBM Phyllis arrived on October 12.

After every section driven both the TBMs underwent routine maintenance. The TBMs can move up to 18 m per day. The outbound and inbound tunnels will be ready for systems next spring and summer respectively. The Broadway Subway is scheduled to open in 2026.
